Shipping with Antique Beams & boards
Through the years we have been in business, we have come to realize different customers have very different shipping needs. We take every scenario seriously to make sure you receive your product without any problems along the way.
We use several different carriers for shipping various kinds of material, and will strive to go above and beyond your expectations to make sure you receive the best shipping quote available.
We will provide you a shipping quote per your request along with the reclaimed wood quote for your order. Depending on when you order the material, the quantity of material you order, and our lead time provided to complete the order, the quote for shipping may change. We will always call and confirm an additional quote closer to the ship date to ensure accuracy.
Payment, Deposit, & Shipment
We must receive the full amount for the order and the shipping cost before your material leaves our yard. We will give you an adequate amount of time to provide us with payment in the mail before your material is ready for shipment. At this time, we do not accept debit or credit card payments. Once we receive payment in full, your order will be shipped to you.
Most orders will require a 50% deposit to initiate, with the balance being due to ship.
Please notify us as to where you will be shipping the material. If you will be shipping the material to a home address, rather than a business or workplace, an additional charge may occur. The carrier may need adequate space to turn around or unload the materials.
Please notify us if you will need any special handling of your order. We need to know if you need it delivered at a specific time.
Once your material ships and depending on which carrier we use, we will provide you with a tracking number. You will be able to follow the order’s progress and coordinate with the carrier on final delivery time.
Delivery of your Shipment
Make sure you are ready for your shipment! The materials we will provide to you are finished and ready for installation by your local contractor or builder. If possible, have a place available to set the order inside until installation. Leaving the dried wood outside may not be a good choice!
Do you have people available to help you unload the order? Often times the carrier is on a tight schedule and will need to unload the material as quickly as possible, and will not be willing to unload themselves.
If your shipment is going to a commercial or residential address, do you have a piece of equipment to unload with? Beams come bundled up just like flooring or paneling, but beams are heavy even individually, some sort of lift will most likely be necessary.
If you have any questions regarding your shipment or possible future shipments, please notify us at your earliest convenience. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
